What we do:

1) create/customise new itineraries/tours, plan, coordinate, & execute all the trips directly using our own trip leaders & staffs

2) organise events/team-building/conference meetings for corporate local/overseas events (including bookings of airfares & hotels)

3) we do NOT “buy & sell” you to other local operators, because we are a local operator ourselves!

Born out of a love for the outdoors and travel, it is our desire to bring the outdoors to everyone, whether you are a working adult or a retiree.

We are a Adventure Travel Planner & Tour Operator in Singapore and China.  From initial engagement, trip planning, to the actual ground operation of the trip, it will be handled by our own staffs! We are licensed both in Singapore and China.

We specialise in organising guided and customised tours & outdoors adventure to Shangrila, western China SiChuan, YunNan, Tibet, XinJiang, and also selected countries like Nepal. We are probably the only Tibet cycling tours operator in Singapore that run the cycling tours entirely by ourselves.  Our tried-and-tested itineraries are reviewed annually by our team in SiChuan to ensure its relevance and safety. Our small and personalised itineraries enable us to give more individualised attention and we venture to the off-beaten roads to show you the beautiful sights. Our unique travel plans will show you a different side of China and Tibet and we work closely with our native counterparts to ensure you will have a memorable adventure.

Besides organising ad-hoc expeditions to selected destinations such as Sri Lanka, Kazakhstan, Laos, Sabah and Indonesia, we also Tailor-made & Customise Itineraries according to your preference. In fact, most of trips are tailor-made to our clients. With more travelers knowing what they want these days, and the fact that we own all the trips ourselves (not just “buy and sell”), our team of professionals will listen, plan, advice and create an unique trip together with our clients based on their budget, time available and other preferences such as routes, types of accommodation, types of transport, choices of meals, sights to visit etc.

ALVIN LOW | FOUNDER & DIRECTOR
Fuelled by his love for travelling and passion for the outdoors, Alvin walked away from the corporate world of IT and founded SHANGRILA ADVENTURE in 2005. Affectionately known as Xiao Ming (小明) by his associates in China, his enthusiasm for trekking and climbing his led him to conquer several mountains in China, such as Mount HaBa, SiGuNiang (Peak 1, 2 & 3), LuoTuoFeng (Camel’s peak), Mount XueBaoDing as well as Mera Peak in Nepal. He has also personally led several cycling expeditions in Tibet, such as Golmud to Tibet 1200km cycling, & the recent Tibet-Nepal via Friendship Highway in May2010. Apart from his certifications in first aid, rock-climbing, ice-climbing and high-altitude mountain guide, his rich experience in trekking and climbing allows him to organise regular expeditions to China as well as Central Asia. Alvin also travels extensively in YunNan and SiChuan regions to scout for the next adventure expedition for his clients.

MARK LEE | NON-EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
Mark Lee is a Senior Vice President and Investment Analyst at a global financial asset management company. Mark has a Bachelor of Engineering (Hons) from the National University of Singapore and an MBA (with Honours) from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. He is also a Chartered Financial Analyst. Mark is co-founder of several businesses in Singapore and Malaysia
APPLE LIU | ADMIN / OPERATIONS
An integral part of the management, Apple is involved in the overall administration as well as the strategic direction of the company. Her familiarity with China’s travel industry and outdoors community, coupled with her many years of outdoor experience, makes her an ideal leader in leading our clients in numerous climbing and trekking expeditions.Apple is trained in first-aid and is a certified high-altitude guide assistant. Her loves include ice-climbing, nature, mountains, photography and has an in-depth knowledge of Tibetan Buddhisim. She was also involved in several outdoor adventure productions, taking charge of the overall planning and logistics for the participants.Her fluency in English, together with her cheerful and outgoing disposition, has made her very popular among our English-speaking clients from Europe and America.
LING DANG I LOGISTSICS / PLANNER (SICHUAN)
Ling Dang is our chief trip leader/trekking guide, training and managing a team of junior trekking guides. Her 7 years of outdoor experience and her involvement with nuumerious trekking and climbing expeditions makes her one of our most important asset in the company.She is in charge of many of the key trips, personally leading them on most occasions. She is qualified in ice-climbing, rock-climbing, first aid and is a certified high-altitude guide assistant. Her good communications skills and lively personality has earned her excellent feedback from our clients.
DA DA I OPERATIONS (NEPAL)
Da Da is in charge of our operations in Nepal. She is stationed there permanently. From trip arrangement to actual trip execution, she puts together all the necessary personnel and logistics to ensure our successful expeditions in Nepal.Rather than selling our trips to one of the local agencies, our Nepal branch operates as a local agency to guarantee the highest standard for our customers.
