SHANGRILA ADVENTURE provides outdoor adventure travel services. Whether you are a seasoned mountain climber seeking a challenge, or an occasional trekker looking for a different vacation, we are here to ensure that your trip is well-planned, safe and fun. With us, you need not worry about the heavy logistic demands of adventure expeditions.

Each itinerary is thoughtfully created. We go there, experience it and design it. We do this with close collaboration with long-term local partners. SHANGRILA ADVENTURE will never include unnecessary programs into your trip. Neither will we rush you unnecessarily. If you have specific preferences and constraints, we can customize itineraries and provide travel advice. Quite simply, your holiday is precious and we want you to enjoy it!

Our main programs are trekking, climbing, cycling and overland drive. We also provide logistic services such as local guides, camping equipment, vehicle rental and booking of accommodation and airfares.

Currently we have established trips in Western China: Tibet, SiChuan, YunNan and XinJiang (CHINA); South-East Asia countries including Sabah (MALAYSIA); (LAOS); (VIETNAM). We also organised on-demand trips to countries such as KAZAKHSTAN; KYRGYZSTAN; Java (INDONESIA) and HONG KONG.

SHANGRILA ADVENTURE was founded in 2005, registered in Singapore (Business Registration No. 200916099Z) and licensed in ChengDu, China (License No. 510107000151713).  SHANGRILA ADVENTURE has offices in Singapore and ChengDu.

The team:

Alvin, also known as XiaoMing by his associates in China, is the founder and general manager of SHANGRILA ADVENTURE. Alvin loves traveling and is very passionate for outdoors activities.  He especially loves trekking and climbing, and believes that the outdoors is good for everyone.  He founded SHANGRILA ADVENTURE in 2005.  Since then, he has been regularly organizing outdoor expeditions to China, especially YunNan, SiChuan, Tibet and XinJiang, as well as Central Asia. 

Alvin has attended courses in 1st aid, ice-climbing and high-altitude mountain guide.  He is very experienced in high-altitude and particularly loves climbing.  Alvin has climbed several mountains in China such Mount HaBa, SiGuNiang 12&3, XueBaoDing, as well as Mera Peak in Nepal.  He has travelled extensively in SiChuan and YunNan region, and is always looking out for new adventures for himself, as well as for his clients.  Prior to setting foot in outdoors adventure, Alvin was an IT consultant at two multi-national companies.  Alvin has a Bachelor of Engineering (Hons) from Nanyang Technological University Singapore.

Mark is a Senior Vice President at a large global financial asset management company. He is primarily responsible for equity investments in Asian technology companies and manages a portfolio of publicly-listed stocks. Prior to working in the financial sector, Mark was a project manager and presales consultant at Hewlett-Packard. Mark has a Bachelor of Engineering (Hons) from the National University of Singapore and is currently pursuing an Executive MBA at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. He is also a Chartered Financial Analyst. Mark is a co-founder of several businesses in Singapore and Malaysia.

Tai Si, works behind the scene, helping in this and that… she hops along some trips to experience them firsthand. Tai Si has a Bachelor of Fine Arts and Business Administration.
