BingZhongLuo and Nu River

BINGZHONGLUO AND NU RIVER
PHYSICAL GRADING – 2-3/5 (Slightly Strenuous)
This expedition follows the footsteps of Joseph Rock, an Austrian-born American botanist and anthropologist who lived in southwest China from 1922 to 1949.

This NuJiang trek allows you to retrace his footsteps along the ancient tea-route road in BingZhongLuo. The trip will start from the remote region around NuJiang, one of the three parallel river cutting through Yunnan. BingZhongLuo is in the northwestern tip of YunNan province, bordering Myanmar to the west and Tibet to the north. She is located next to the 1st bend of NuJiang (Salween River), separated from the parallel LanCangJiang (Mekong River) by the BiLuo Snow Mountain ranges (via peakcock high-pass)

A sizeable population of Catholic Tibetans reside here and you will find churches and vineyards among monasteries and stupas. You will trek across the BiLuo Snow Mountain, trekking along DiMaLuo village (Nu River) to YongZhi village (Lancang River). Our final stop is the breathtaking sacred MeiLi Snow Mountain, the highest peak in YunNan.
