2.3) 8D Laos Cycling and Kayaking
This customized program from SHANGRILA ADVENTURE allows you to experience some of the best kept secrets that Laos has to offer. You will fly in to Vientiane, the capital of Laos for your connection to Luang Prabang. Situated about 420km north of Vientaine, Luang Prabang is said to be one of the most beautiful town in South-East Asia. You will have a 1-day free and easy cycling to explore the town. You will see monks in saffron robes, historic temples with golden roofs, French colonial architecture and the Mekong River. Next, get ready for a fun-filled 3-day cycling trip from Luang Prabang to Vang Vieng. It is a fully-supported trip with logistics vehicle, mountain bikes, light refreshments and fruits. Admire the beauty of the lime-stones peaks, rustic villages and padi fields along the journey. Your adventure will end with a nice one day caving and kayaking trip along the Nam Song River, where you will paddle through both easy rapids and calm waters to explore life around the banks of the river.

1) A Brand New Chapter
Today, 17 July 2009, is an important day for us. It marks the beginning of A Brand New Chapter to mark where SHANGRILA ADVENTURE is heading in the future.
We have now established our main office in China! Yes, with effect from today, we will be located in ChengDu, Luofu Shijia, 9, Gao Sheng Qiao Lu, Wu Hou District, Sichuan.

On top of that, we have a new logo and new tagline:

The past few months have seen us consolidating our resources & programs together with our partner in China. Moving forward, we are now a fully licensed adventure travel services company, capable of both inbound as well as outbound trips. This new partnership will also see us expanding to provide adventure trips out to South-East Asia.
Our key strengths remain in the area of outdoor itineraries: particularly trekking, 4x4 overland, mountain climbing and cycling. In addition, with our many years of experience operating in China, particularly in YunNan, SiChuan, Tibet & XinJiang, we are also capable of arranging the necessary logistics to assist you in planning customised trips to these areas. In 2008, we provided logistic support & services for a group of Korean climbers during their attempt to climb the treacherous Peak 4 of Mount SiGuNiang.
Since 2005, we have brought more than 150 clients to various part of western China. Many of you are familiar faces who have been traveled with us repeatedly. Some have become personal friends who still get together every now & then. I am proud to say that ALL our trips are completed safely, timely, & without major setbacks.
To date, we have successfully organized >30 trips. Some of our key highlights are as follows:
- 140km trek from LuGu Lake in YunNan to DaoCheng YaDing in SiChuan
- 3000km overland drive from Shangri-la YunNan to Mount Everest Base Camp in Tibet
- 2800km overland drive from Tibet to Kashgar in XinJiang
- Central Asia adventure to Kazakhstan
- Successful summits on HaBa Snow Mountain in YunNan & Mount SiGuNiang 1&2 in SiChuan
- 1200km cycling from Golmund in QingHai to Tibet along the QingZang Highway 109.
In September this year, we will be embarking on our maiden 1700km Tibet to Shangrila YunNan cycling trip. 9 brave souls will be peddling their way along the scenic ChuanZang (Sichuan-Tibet) Highway 318, crossing mountain passes up to 5020m. The entire journey will last 21days, but the experience will last a lifetime. To many, it is a dream-come-true!
In October, we will be trekking around the beautiful Minya Konka (Mount GongGa 7556m). Minya Konka, or Mount GongGa 7556m, is the highest peak in SiChuan province. 17 persons will trek up to her base camp at 4300m. The experience will definitely be exhilarating. . We have carefully designed the itinerary so that the trekking pace is comfortable for most people & it allows you to have sufficient time for relaxation, photography, be soaked into the beautiful scenery & breathe the mountain air.
Throughout the entire trek, you would be able to see the north, northwest & southern ridge of Minya Konka
At this moment, our website is under-going a major revamp. It will be completed & ready by end August.
